The YHT hypnotherapy practitioners' course is recognised and externally accredited by a number of professional organisations. If you are comparing courses and find yourself a bit confused about all the different accreditations and qualifications, we have a free ebook explaining it all here. To find out about those bodies which accredit our course, read on.
Hypnotherapy Practitioner Course:
The Hypnotherapy Practitioners' course offered by Yorkshire Hypnotherapy Training has been assessed and validated at Practitioner Level by the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (UK). Graduates from this course are eligible for professional registration with the General Hypnotherapy Register (the GHSC's registering agency) at full Practitioner status, together with the acquisition of the industry based award - the General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice (GQHP).
The course is also accredited by the Professional Hypnotherapy Network, which encourages and supports the highest quality of professional practice and standards of training in clinical hypnotherapy.
Yorkshire Hypnotherapy Training is also a College Member of the Complementary Medical Association, recognised by the public and doctors alike as the leading organisation in the field of ethical, professional Complementary Medicine. Our course is registered as a practitioner level course with the CMA and all our graduates are eligible for CMA membership.
*The CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council) is the national voluntary regulator for complementary healthcare practitioners in the UK. They do not accredit or approve specific training courses or schools. However, graduates of our Practitioner course are eligible to register with them if they wish to do so because our accreditation is based on our compliance with the most recent (2019) version of the Training Standards. Some schools have been allowed to retain accreditation based on an older version of the Training Standards, and their graduates are not eligible for CNHC registration. If this is important to you, check this with your training provider or ask for our free ebook on understanding accreditation.
Foundation Level hypnotherapy training:
The Voluntary Regulations don't cover Foundation level training, so not all accrediting bodies offer this option. Our Foundation level course is recognised by the General Hypnotherapy Register (above) and the ACCPH (below).
Other bodies who recognise our training:
The ACCPH (Accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists) is an independent professional body and register for counsellors, coaches, psychotherapists and hypnotherapists. Its primary goal is to support its membership in private practice or within a workplace environment.
ACCPH generally follow the difficulty benchmarks used on the RQF, but these may be adapted to fit generally recognised requirements of the therapy the course is aimed at, for example, the hypnotherapy training standards. Our Practitioner course is assessed at the equivalent of level 4.
The International Board of Certified Trainers accredits people or organisations rather than specific courses, and they have given our Head Tutor Debbie Waller the status of 'approved trainer'.
