Hypnotherapy training dates and venues
Our hypnotherapy courses give you a choice of training during school hours, or at weekends. We also offer a choice of weekend venues - Wakefield and York (although classes are being held online whilst the COVID restrictions last).
When we are training face-to-face, both cities are easily accessible from a wide area by road, and there are good rail and bus networks for those travelling on public transport.
At present, most classes are being held online via Zoom. The accreditors have confirmed that this is acceptable as long as the COVID-19 crisis continues, but they are adamant it is a temporary measure - the voluntary regulations do not usually recognise online training. Please bear this in mind when applying. At some point in your time with us, it is very likely that we'll be back to face-to-face classes and you will need to be able to get to the venues.
The weekend class in Wakefield runs the fourth weekend of each month, it will begin in September 2021 and continue each month (except December) until July 2022. We hope this class will be face to face. The early bird discount ends on 13th August 2021.
Midweek training will start in September 2021 but works slightly differently.
Not everyone who wants to train during the week could attend on any day, so the class is arranged around the preferences of those who want to train as much as is practical.
The application form asks you which day/s you would be available. Once I have a viable group I organise the classes on the day that suits the majority. I can’t book a venue till I know which day we are running, so once the day is set I look at where everyone is coming from and choose a venue that's as central and accessible as possible. The application form also allows you to state a first and second choice of class so you could put midweek as the first choice, and a weekend group as your second choice. It sounds very vague and ad hoc, I appreciate, but has worked pretty well since 2012! If you have any questions about it, please do get in touch.
There is only one midweek class per year.
The weekend class in York runs the second weekend of each month (except August), it will start on 12th and 13th February 2022 and end in December. The early bird discount will end on 19th December 2021.
Please note: to qualify for the early bird discount you must apply, be offered a place, and return your deposit and learning contract before the cut-off dates.
All our venues have B&B nearby for anyone wishing to stay overnight.
NB: These are the venues we were using before the COVID lockdown. If they are not available when we go back to face to face training, or if they cannot provide enough space for us to adhere to social distancing rules, other venues in the area will be used.
York - We will be at Millthorpe School in York, which is a bit less than a mile on foot from the train station, and only half a mile from a park and ride stop. There is free parking on-site on a first-come, first-served basis. If (rare) that is full, Knavesmire Road offers free parking and is about half a mile away and there are several long-term 'pay and display' car parks within easy walking distance (Nunnery Lane, 13 mins; Bishopthorpe Rd 13 mins; Rowntree, 16 mins).
York is well placed for those living in the North Yorkshire area and further afield; Harrogate, Scarborough, Whitby and the East Coast etc. It's also easily accessible via the A1M from the North East of England; Newcastle, Durham, Stockton on Tees, Middlesbrough, and Darlington.
Mid-Week training - the venue varies depending on which day of the week we decide to meet. Please ask for more information if this is important to you.
Wakefield - Weekends: we have not been able to confirm if our usual venue is still available as it changed hands just before the 2020 lockdown. We will publish a venue as soon as we can.
Wakefield itself is conveniently sited close to the M62, M1 and A1 which makes it accessible from almost any area of Northern England or the Midlands. Most of our students travel from Leeds, Bradford, Hull, Manchester, Pontefract, Castleford, Doncaster, Sheffield, Nottingham, and Lincoln, although some have come from further afield including Scotland and Staffordshire.
