Hypnotherapy supervision services

It is a requirement of most professional therapy associations, including those that accredit our course, that new therapists undertake supervision.
See an article explaining what this means here.
Each hypnotherapy professional body will have its own rules about the supervision you are expected to undertake, and for how long. For example, hypnotherapists registered with the G.H.R. are required to engage in supervision for a minimum of 2 hours in any 3 month period during their first 2 years of practice. But most other talking therapists (counsellors etc) are required to continue this process throughout their careers and you will be encouraged to continue supervision after that time.
Our tutor Debbie Waller is an Advanced Practitioner with the G.H.R. and also an accredited supervisor; She's completed a Certificate in Clinical Supervision that's approved by the BPS (British Psychological Society), the only UK psychology and psychotherapy body established by Royal Charter and one of the primary national leads in determining national recommendation on clinical supervision across a range of groups and helping professions. She also trains supervisors, and anyone who has completed that course and has the relevant number of years in practice is automatically accepted as a supervisor by the GHR and BSOH.
Debbie is listed by the GHR as a hypnotherapy supervisor. She has a number of supervisees that belong to other professional bodies as well, but this depends on their rules about what they consider to be suitable supervision. Some organisations have a list of pre-vetted supervisors and expect you to choose from that list. Some will accept supervision with anyone they see as suitably qualified. Please ask for details.
Supervision and post-qualification support for students of Yorkshire Hypnotherapy Training
During your training, Debbie will provide whatever supervision you need. She is contactable at all times (though preferably not in the middle of the night!) via email or phone. After you have completed your training, you can continue to contact us by phone or email for advice and support, although we do encourage you to undertake formal supervision from other sources as well.
YHT offers a supervision group aimed primarily at newly qualified graduates, who meet once a quarter on Zoom.
Supervision for those who have trained elsewhere
There are limited vacancies for regular one-to-one supervision and there is a group supervision option. The group is for those who have been qualified and in practice for at least a year, and meets on Zoom bi-monthly. Please contact Debbie if you are interested in coming along.
